FLYING WITH A  CAR SEAT

EXPERT TIPS YOU NEED TO KNOW

WELCOME!

Before we get started, a little about me (and why you should take my advice)...

I'm a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician

I've taken my kids to six continents, including two years of full-time travel

TAKING A CAR SEAT IS THE SAFEST CHOICE

-Crashes are rare,  but turbulence is common -Airplane seatbelts are for 40lbs+ -Smaller kids need a car seat or CARES harness -Lap babies can be seriously injured in bad turbulence

BY LAW U.S. AIRLINES MUST LET YOU USE A CAR SEAT

-You're allowed to rear-face if your child is within the limits -Non-US airlines set their own rules, so read up before you fly -You can only sit in certain seats (swipe for details)

MAKE IT EASY

-Choose a lightweight car seat -CARES + Ride Safer Travel Vest for kids 4+ years old -Folding booster seat for kids 5+ who are mature
